Isn't it so wonderful when your child wants to cuddle and be
held? Those times can be some of the sweetest memories and strongest bonds
formed. I love being able to sit down with my daughter on my lap or in my arms
and just relax. It is so nice knowing that she is getting the attention she
needs and that I am getting the rest I need. Her skin is so soft, her eyes are
so happy, she smells just like a baby should
and she smiles the sweetest smile. It is the closest to
Heaven I think I have ever been. Unfortunately there are always two sides to
every story.
There comes a time in every childs life when all they want
is to be held and cuddled. Trying to do the dishes? Making yourself some lunch?
Taking a shower or even just attempting to go the bathroom? Good luck. If you
are not holding your little one, they scream like they are hurt or in danger.
In reality the only reason they are crying so hard is because you are not
holding them. It will be over soon right? As soon as your husband comes home
from work he can help take care of the little one. WRONG! No matter how much
your loving, wonderful husband tries to help the baby still cries because,
"He is not my mom!"
While this phase can be frustrating and somewhat exhausting,
we have to remind ourselves that it is just a phase. It will pass and when it does,
we will be sad by the independence of our once little baby. Enjoy it all while
you can. To me, being a mother is the most important role I could ever fulfill.
If a precious little eight month old girl knows the importance of a mother,
shouldn't we all? Let the house get a little dirty, buy frozen pizzas for
dinner and forget to put on your make-up. You can do all that stuff later, but
your baby will only be a baby for so long.
Ah Karissa! So sweet. You are an amazing mother! You realize the importance of just spending time with your daughter. Before you know it, she will be driving! :) I just realized my girls are the same age you were when you were babysitting them. Time flies!!
